How the five Amazon FBA fees work

Together these typically take 30%–45% of your sale price. Model them before you place a purchase order — a product that looks profitable on Amazon's own calculator can flip negative once you include the placement and low-inventory fees.

FAQ

Is this calculator accurate for 2026 Amazon FBA fees?

Fee tables are sourced from Amazon's 2026 published US schedule, verified against the January 15 2026 announcement and cross-checked with FeeYield's June 27 2026 update. Real Amazon statements can differ by ±2% due to aged-inventory surcharges, removals, returns, and product-specific overrides.

Does Amazon take 15% referral on every category?

No. Most consumer categories are 15%, but Consumer Electronics, Computers, Cell Phones, Beauty, and Grocery are 8%. Clothing is 17%. Jewelry is 20% (5% for items over $250). Amazon Device Accessories are 45% capped at $0.30.

What is the Inbound Placement Fee?

Effective April 1 2024. Charged per unit shipped to Amazon, based on your size tier and the placement program you choose. "Minimal" (Amazon assigns FCs) is cheapest. "Partial" (you pick some FCs) is the middle tier. A typical 0.75 lb large-standard item on Partial pays $0.21 per unit.

What is the Low-Inventory Fee?

Effective April 1 2024. Charged per unit sold when your historical days-of-supply is below 28 days relative to recent demand. It applies only to standard-size units. The fix: keep at least 4 weeks of forward inventory for your best-selling SKUs — the penalty is more expensive than the carrying cost.

What's the new Fuel & Logistics Surcharge?

Effective April 17 2026 in the US and Canada (Multi-Channel Fulfillment and Buy with Prime followed May 2). Amazon added a +3.5% surcharge on FBA fulfillment fees, calculated on the fulfillment fee (not your sale price). On a $4.75 fulfillment fee that's about $0.17 per unit. No end date announced.
